This poster compares anchored and unanchored matching-adjusted indirect comparisons (MAICs) using Phase III trial data in moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. The analysis evaluated how each approach influences estimates of clinical response and remission when direct head-to-head trial data are unavailable.
The findings showed that unanchored MAICs produced narrower confidence intervals and more statistically significant results despite relying on stronger assumptions and less information. The research highlights the importance of using anchored MAICs whenever possible and exercising caution when interpreting results from unanchored analyses.
