Principal Scientist Modelling

The company has seen exceptional growth and success, and we are looking for an individual with strong economic modelling skills and extensive project management experience to join us as Principal Scientist, Modelling.

The professional in this role will work on clinical and economic modelling projects in collaboration with client engagement and scientific teams, to meet the external payer and HTA needs of our clients.

Flexible – hybrid or remote, depending on location.

Accountabilities within this role:

  • Develop de novo cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models for HTA/ reimbursement submissions.
  • Independently adapt existing economic models for the US and ex-US HTA Markets.
  • Develop budget impact models/ cost models for payer discussions in the US
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development process and HTA or
  • reimbursement processes
  • Support publication of developed models in peer-reviewed journals and/ or conferences
  • presentations
  • Provide input to project proposals.
  • Independently plan and monitor project resources and timelines.
  • Deliver economic models, reports and presentations.
  • Provide economic strategy and insights to project deliverables.
  • Create long-term partnerships with clients and work with existing clients to identify new and
  • follow-on projects.
  • Implement the company economic modelling processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of health economics modelling experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consulting, with familiarity and understanding of the use of modelling in payer and HTA decision making.
  • A degree in mathematics, statistics, science, economics or other related discipline (2:1 or above) is essential for the role, with a postgraduate qualification in the health-related field (such as health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology) an advantage.
  • Experience in hands-on model development from scratch, including background research, model conceptualization, model implementation, and presentation of model findings in different disease areas
  • Experience in the development of budget impact models and early and late-stage cost-effectiveness models
  • Experience of model adaptations for different markets to support HTA submissions.
  • Strong understanding of different model structures including decision tree, Markov model,
  • partitioned survival model and multi-state model
  • Strong knowledge of various economic evaluation techniques in different settings
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modelling skills, including VBA
  • Experience working in R/ Python or other statistical software is desirable
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skill
  • Proven publication record.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to multi-task and deliver quality work
