Principal Scientist,
Pharmacoepidemiology & Safety

The Principal Scientist, Pharmacoepidemiology and Safety will be a part of a team of pharmacoepidemiologists and other research professionals who support the organization through the design and implementation real-world evidence (RWE) studies and consultation on study design and methodology to life sciences companies. The individual in this role will serve as a key resource to internal teams and clients in the design and implementation of regulatory and safety studies that utilize real world evidence.

Location: Remote will be considered.

What You'll Do

  • Supports the end-to-end generation of RWE including designing and implementing pharmacoepidemiology and safety studies using appropriate methodology
  • Produces and may oversee development of client deliverables while ensuring scientific excellence and quality control (e.g., protocols, results interpretation, and results dissemination)
  • Contributes to proposal development and client capabilities presentations and meetings
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior members of the Pharmacoepidemiology & Safety team Supports development of processes, templates, and training materials relevant to internal team management and solution/offering
    Contributes to dissemination of real world evidence and pharmacoepidemiology and safety findings through scientific communications such as abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Collaborates cross-functionally within the organization as it relates to pharmacoepidemiology and safety; supports cross-functional teams by providing expertise on methods, analysis, and results presentation and interpretation for regulatory studies
  • Cultivates a positive work environment and inspires development and training.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years preferred consulting or industry experience in pharmacoepidemiology and the design and implementation of real-world evidence studies for regulatory decision-making
  • Masters or PhD degree within a relevant discipline (e.g., pharmacoepidemiology, drug safety, or epidemiology focus on methods and study execution)
  • Demonstrated experience developing pharmacoepidemiology study designs, protocols, final study reports, abstracts, presentations, & manuscripts using a range of real world data sources (claims, electronic health records, and/or registry)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Proven history of scientific writing, i.e., study protocols and peer-reviewed publications
  • Strong healthcare/life sciences industry knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm to learn and motivation to take opportunities to develop oneself and others
  • Ability to effectively work in a matrix environment and flexibility to adapt to client project needs in a fast-paced entrepreneurial workplace
