Senior Director, Pharmacoepidemiology & Safety

The Senior Director, Pharmacoepidemiology and Safety will grow and lead a team of pharmacoepidemiologists and other research professionals through strategic thinking, scientific methodology, study implementation, and stakeholder management. The individual in this role will serve as a subject matter expert to internal teams and clients in the design and implementation of regulatory and safety studies that utilize real-world evidence.

Location: USA & UK based. Remote will be considered.

What You'll Do

  • Takes responsibility for managing existing and developing new client relationships with responsibility for project strategy, methodology design and approach, and ensuring the project delivers high levels of quality/added value to the client
  • Builds, leads and scales a team through scientific methodology, strategic thinking, study implementation/execution, stakeholder management
  • Oversees client deliverables to ensure scientific excellence and quality control (e.g., protocols, statistical analysis plans, data and statistical analyses, results generation, and results dissemination)
  • Contributes to proposal development and client capabilities presentations and meetings
  • Leads development of processes, templates, and training materials relevant to internal team management and solution/offering
  • Leads and develops the solution/offerings organizational strategy and manages internal staffing resources and budgeting
  • Leads or contributes to thought leadership in real world evidence and pharmacoepidemiology and safety through abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Collaborates cross-functionally within the organization as it relates to pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety
  • Cultivates a positive work environment and inspires development and training

Qualifications

  • 8+ years at a minimum, 10+ years preferred industry or consulting experience in Life Sciences Research, pharmacoepidemiology, and/or use of real-world evidence for regulatory decision-making
  • Masters or PhD degree within a relevant discipline (e.g., pharmacoepidemiology, safety or epidemiology focus on methods and study execution)
  • Demonstrated expert level experience developing pharmacoepidemiology study designs, protocols, SAPs, reports, abstracts, conference abstracts, presentations, & manuscripts
  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams to conduct development of study designs, protocols, SAPs, reports, abstracts, conference abstracts, presentations, & manuscripts
  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams to conduct epidemiology projects utilizing real world data (claims, electronic health records, and/or registry)
  • Outstanding healthcare/life sciences industry knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm to learn and motivation to take opportunities to develop oneself and others
  • Ability to effectively work in a matrix environment and flexibility to adapt to client project needs in a fast-paced entrepreneurial workplace
